Louisiana is known for insane rap hits and spittas; Soulja Slim sold 500,000 albums on his debut Give It 2 'Em Raw.
Released May 19, 1998 on No Limit Records and Priority Records, Soulja Slim was a success right out the gate. The album Give It 2 'Em Raw made it to #4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and #13 on the Billboard 200. From What I Was Told is one of the songs on his debut album and promoted as a single with a music video to push it.
