Coming off the album In Effect Mode in 1988, Al B. Sure released Nite and Day as a single that thrusted him into stardom reaching #7 on US Pop and #1 in US R&B. As a signed member of Uptown Records where Teddy Riley lived, Al B. Sure's music was birthed from the home team of New Jack Swing and thus his legacy made history alongside his cousin Kyle West on production and keys. In Effect Mode is certified double-Platinum by RIAA.
